Meet Dr. Krista
I’m Dr. Krista Ortiz, a Doctor of Physical Therapy and fellowship trained specialist in Orthopedic Manual Therapy and Osteopractic care. I founded Austin Osteopractic & Wellness to provide the kind of care I believe more people deserve: personalized, hands on treatment that looks at the whole person rather than just the diagnosis. My clinical focus includes chronic pain, headaches, spine conditions, orthopedic injuries, and pelvic floor dysfunction, with an emphasis on understanding how the nervous system, movement patterns, lifestyle, and stress all influence healing and performance.
My approach focuses on identifying and treating the root cause of an issue rather than only addressing symptoms downstream. Rather than waiting until pain becomes severe, I believe in prevention, early intervention, and long term wellness through individualized treatment, education, and movement based strategies that support lasting health. Every patient is different, and I strive to create a calm, collaborative environment where people feel heard, understood, and empowered throughout their recovery.

Clinical Interests
I enjoy working with a wide range of patients and conditions, with particular clinical interest in chronic pain, headaches, knee pain, spine related conditions, pelvic floor dysfunction, and helping active older adults maintain mobility, strength, independence, and quality of life.
I especially value working with individuals who are motivated to better understand their bodies and take an active role in their recovery and long term wellness. My goal is to help patients feel heard, supported, and empowered while addressing the root cause of dysfunction rather than simply managing symptoms.
A Dog-Friendly Clinic
Please note that a friendly dog is occasionally present in the clinic. If you have pet allergies or prefer a pet-free environment, this setting may not be ideal. By scheduling an appointment, you acknowledge and accept the possibility of a dog being present during your visit.
